It’s 2019 and new exciting events are happening already. The new CLEO TV, a cable network dedicated to young women of color, is launching January 19th. The channel’s name comes from the historical female icon – Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and aims to fill the void of content for Millennial and Gen X women of color. The offshoot of TV One and distributed by Comcast Xfinity will serve lifestyle and entertainment content on a 24/7 basis.

CLEO TV is promising new, relevant content with a splash of old school mixed in. With former BET staffer Michelle Rice at the head of the network, CLEO TV is putting their audience first. They’ve already got a myriad of original content lined up for both traditional programming and digital programming. Sticking firmly to the lifestyle genre for now, CLEO TV’s got interior design, travel, vegan soul food, and cooking with famous chefs and celebrities. There is also a solid web series lineup, with coming of adulthood dramas, romance, slice of life, and of course comedy. It’s a fresh pool of content for a young modern black woman, offering inspirational, informative entertainment. With this much variety there’s bound to be something for everyone.
